Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information DodoGarage (https://dodogarage.tizilmaurice.com) collects, why, and what your rights are under the Data Protection Act 2017 of Mauritius.
1. Who is responsible
The controller of your personal data is YJM. Contact: dodogarage@tizilmaurice.com.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, Mauritian mobile number and password (stored only in encrypted form). For businesses: company name and Business Registration Number.
- Listings: vehicle details, photos, prices, rental rates, availability and descriptions you provide.
- Activity: offers, bookings, saved vehicles, alerts, messages between members and reports.
- Technical data: your IP address and the time of sign-in attempts, kept for security; a session cookie that keeps you signed in; and your language choice, stored in your own browser.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
3. Why we use it
- To create and run your account and confirm who you are (performance of our agreement with you).
- To publish listings, handle offers and bookings, and send the emails and text messages these involve (performance of our agreement).
- To check listings, prevent fraud, misuse and copied ads, and keep the site secure (our legitimate interests and legal obligations).
- To answer your questions and reports.
- To send you vehicle alerts you have asked for (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by removing the alert).
4. What other people see
Your listings, photos (with number plates and faces hidden where possible), district and first name are shown on the site. Prices and rates are shown to signed-in members. Your email address and mobile number are not shown publicly; they are only shared with another member if you give them yourself.
5. Who we share it with
We never sell your personal data. We use a small number of carefully selected service providers to run DodoGarage, only for the purposes above and under confidentiality: website hosting and email delivery, text message delivery, and automated checking of listing photos. Some of these providers may process data outside Mauritius, in which case we rely on appropriate safeguards as required by the Data Protection Act. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
6. How long we keep it
- Account details: while your account is open, then up to 12 months after it is closed.
- Photos of removed or deleted listings: deleted when the listing is removed.
- Offers, bookings and messages: up to 24 months, to deal with disputes.
- Security records of sign-in attempts: up to 24 hours.
7. Your rights
You may ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it erased, to object to or restrict its use, and to receive a copy. Write to dodogarage@tizilmaurice.com. You can also complain to the Data Protection Office of Mauritius (dataprotection.govmu.org).
8. Security
Passwords are stored in encrypted form, sign-in attempts are limited, administrator access needs a second code, and original photos are kept privately on the server. No method is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
9. Children
DodoGarage is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version, and important changes will be announced by email or on the site.
